How we keep applications honest

What you attest to

The person who submits an application confirms that the information and documents are accurate and that they are authorized to act for the business. Their name, title and the time are recorded.

Spot checks

  • A random sample of verified applications is rechecked by a person each month (the starting rate is 10%, minimum 3).
  • A recheck compares the document and entries with the issuing agency's record, where one is available, and may ask you for supporting information.
  • Some applications are always reviewed by a person: those the automated checks flag, and those with low-confidence readings.

If something does not match

You are asked to explain or correct it. A UC reviewer decides the outcome, and the reason is recorded. Knowingly false information can lead to a Not verified result, withdrawal of a prior verification and a report to UC Procurement.
